Grad School...

Rise and Grind!!!! It's the first day back to work and the first day of my  ITEC Grad program and all I can think is "What was I thinking?" Lol... Although,  I'm excited to begin my journey in ITEC, as I worked on the first round of assignments last night the reality set in.... I have to develop a time management system that supports my progression toward my academic and career goals or I WILL NOT succeed.  I am attending a planning session this weekend that will hopefully help me create a schedule to kick off this semester strong.
Any ideas?

Back To School 2018-2019

Summer Break is quickly coming to a close! My daughter an I have squeezed as much into our busy schedule as possible and honestly we could still use a few more weeks of exploring beyond the classroom. I'm excited to kick off another school year as the Gifted Lead Specialist at Peyton Forest Elementary School.

Grad School

I finally did it! This morning I clicked the submit button for my Graduate Application with a concentration in Instructional Technology. I have been debating on which program was the best for for me and I finally made the decision.... 6 years later. Better now than never. Now I'm waiting for my acceptance letter. Keeping my fingers crossed!

The Countdown Begins...

The back to school countdown has officially begun! Twenty-five days until I meet my stupendous second graders. And I must admit that I am rather excited! My mind is full of wonder…as I think of the varying possibility of a new school year. In an effort to keep my anxiety at bay, I’ve been keeping busy with my back to school To Do List, which happens to be a mile long. I have so much to do prior to the first day, but I am confident that I will get it all done somehow. The first project that I am proud to say I have completed, is my teacher toolbox. I discovered this crafty idea through Pinterest. I love, love, love Pinterest! It’s a haven for creative and crafty teacher ideas. It was pretty simple to complete. After hunting for the perfect theme, I decided to use neon animal prints. I printed the labels and attached them to the scrapbooking paper using double-sided tape. I then attached each insert to the inside of a drawer. I also used the 32 drawer toolbox, so I have a few extra drawers. I really like the finished product. Shout out to Ms.Roja for posting her labels on TPT!
The picture is a bit blurry, but you get the idea!

Greetings!!!!

Hello everyone! My name is Ericka. I am a Georgia native and a southern girl at heart! I recently finished my 1st year teaching as the primary EIP teacher for K-2. I gained soooo much knowledge during this time. I enjoyed creating my own program layout, as well as working with the best students and teachers in the world! I mean, there are definitely a few perks to teaching small group reading. But I so badly wanted my own classroom. I recently found out that my prayers had been answered... I will be teaching 2nd grade in the Fall! And I could not be any happier. It's definitely where my heart is! I began blogstalking back in Fall of 2011. I immediately fell in love with this world of creativity, inspiration, and sharing. And I have been blogstalking every since. The blogging world has brought me a whole new love of teaching! I am addicted to reading everyone's amazing ideas. The ideas are such an inspiration. I have been inspired to journal my journey along this joyously worn path to becoming a great teacher through my blog, The Learning Spot. Being a part of this network has definitely made me a better teacher and I am so thankful that I have found all of these resources. I can't wait to start sharing! Happy blogstalking! :)
